Flowers in Cold Zones

This is another busy month tidying up spring flowering beds and preparing for summer months ahead. Clean out finished or faded spring bedding plants; dig over bed adding manure and compost and allow to settle for a few weeks before you plant a summer display. Early in November late frost can nip in the bud sensitive seedlings. If you plant early have frost protection for chilly nights.
The pruning of a November of flowering shrubs and trees is top priority now. The wind can be a major factor over the next few months in the success or failure of developing plants and shrubs. Shrubs continually battling with the wind will never develop to their best. No windbreaks? Protect any developing shrub on the wind wards side with a sheet of board or tin. Stake as you plant any tall growing plants such as dahlias and hollyhocks, and check and re tie every few weeks. florist manila delivery in USA with the help of philippinesflowersdelivery.com/

A late afternoon hosing refreshes bushes and sends aphids flying. If you are not using a slow release fertilizer scratch in an organic or all-purpose fertilizer; water in well.
