ANNUAL FLOWERS

The flowers that live fast and die young are the ones that are called the annuals.it takes only one season for these beauties to grow, flower, set the seeds and die. Some flowers that are planted as annuals in colder climates may act as perennials if planted in warmer regions. Among the endless choice of annuals there are some that are ever popular. The following is the brief introduction to some of them.
LARKSPUR
Larkspur is the common name for delphinium but most of the people know larkspur by its scientific name rather than the common name. Delphinium is the botanical name for larkspur. The delphiniums have the ability to change the landscape of any summer garden with stunning display of their beauty and color.
The showy yet spiky blooms grow on a tall stem. Some ease loving farmers avoid growing delphinium because they are considered as the type of annuals that is a bit difficult to grow. Most people know that the delphinium are true blue in color but the hybridizers have worked hard and developed many other colors of delphinium like lavender, pink, yellow, white  and even red. As delphiniums can grow up to 6 feet tall they are usually planted at the back of the flower bed where short height plants are planted. Most of the gardeners plant delphiniums in groups.
ASCLEPIAS, RED BUTTERFLY
Asclepias are the annuals that beautify the annual gardens with their fiery orange colored blooms. The plant likes to grow in hot weather and so it is planted after the season of frost is over. It is used as cut flowers as well as dried flower arrangements. Generally it is planted as borders. It can grow up to the height of 36 inches.it may bloom for period as long as six weeks. The re blooming can be promoted by deadheading the plant regularly. GERANIUM BIOKOVO
Geraniums are the most popular of all annuals. For the those gardeners who have been looking for and elegant annual flower  that could be used as ground cover that needs less maintenance, GERANIUM  that is commonly known as crane’s bill is the perfect choice. White geranium with pink centers are just perfect to make any summer garden worth visiting. It likes growing in full sun or light shade and can easily grow in most of the soil types.
