There are floral arrangers who do not use floral foam
because it is difficult to use. But with practice one can use it in a better
way. Following is the technique which is used for using foam for making floral
arrangements.
The way to make the foam ready to use
For making the foam ready for use it is necessary to
understand the nature of the foam. The foam is quite delicate and is open
celled material which should be handled with care to make it to work properly.
If it is not handled with care the open cell can be damaged. These cells are
filled with air when it is in dry form. The cells flowers delivery to philippines are filled with water by
capillary action. When water rose up in these cells the air is pushed outside
from the other side which is not dipped in water. One should make it sure that
air should not be left trapped in any of those cells.
Natural way for
wetting the foam
One should keep the foam in water and let it to absorb water
naturally. For this one can take a container of water and put the thick foam in
that container. The container should have the amount of water which is enough
to sink the full foam in it. This way the water enters the foam from the bottom
and the air releases through the upper surface of the foam. One should be
patient to wet the foam. Listerine can be used in water which is an antiseptic
solution. Use of this solution is better for preventing the floral arrangement
from the attack of bacteria that ruin the arrangement.
Adjustment of the foam
The foam should be adjusted in the container in which the floral
arranger is going to make the floral arrangement. For this one should cut the
foam according to the shape of the container. Then adjust it inside it and make
it well fitted so that flower stems do not lose their shape when they are
arranged in it. One can cut the foam by marking it by putting it on the mouth
of the container. Then cut it with a sharp knife so that it can cut the edges
of the foam accurately. Then foam is kept at the middle of the container and is
then fixed with the help of a floral tap.
