IRIS

There are more than 200 species of iris that are grown in different parts of the world. in fact there are very few types of iris that are known to gardeners, the reason for this lack of knowledge is the intense interest in just a few species. Today people think the bigger is the better so they like German iris. People who are acquainted with Greekmythology knowthat iris is the name of Goddess of rainbow and because of the stunning beauty of the iris blooms it has been a symbol of royal families and monarchs throughout history. It is the second most painted flower of all famous artists. In ancient times, in France, the iris was used by royal families as the symbol of position and power.
The most easily grown iris in the beardediris, it has been popular right from the beginning of the time when it was discovered. Bearded iris blooms in late spring. The bearded iris is classified in six types; this classification is done according to the height of the iris plant. The most popular type of iris is called Long Bearded iris that can grow up to 41 inches tall, and the pretty blooms sometimes measures up to inches across. Though most of the perennials are hard to grow in northern parts of America the long bearded iris loves to grow not only in North America but also places like Dallas and Texas. Iris falls into the hardy category in Canada.
GROWING IRIS
Iris is considered the most persistent perennial of all times, it is also popular because it is the easiest perennial to grow. Some of the characteristics of Iris are similar to that of oriental poppies as they can withstand grass and weeds and other flowers delivery to philippines plants even if the perennial garden is left unattended for years.

Iris require division which should be done after bloomingthe roots are digged up easily and then all the rhizomes are cut with a sharp knife and then replanted again to make new gardens full of beautiful blooms. The soil in which rhizomes are planted should be kept moist as long as the new plants sprout. All the newly planted rhizomes take almost a year to grow new blooms.
